In the UK, diagnosed hypothyroidism affects 1–2% of the population (NICE 2024) – with an even greater prevalence in women and older people and is a widespread cause of debilitating symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, unwanted weight gain, depression, constipation, loss of libido and muscle and joint pain.
This webinar will take a look at how an underactive thyroid is diagnosed (including ‘subclinical’ cases) and how to identify the possible contributory factors in the individual client. We’ll then summarise the evidence for using specific nutrition and lifestyle interventions to support healthy thyroid function, taking into account adjustments for clients who are taking levothyroxine.
