Memberships

Membership is available at Full (practising or non-practising), Associate, tutor, Affiliate and Student levels. Application details can be found on our Applying for New Membership page.

Full Membership is for practitioners who have successfully completed a recognised professional training course in:

  • a) Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy – as provided by one of the training providers listed on the Education & Training pages.
  • b) Nutritional Therapy – information about training providers is given on the Education & Training pages.

  • Full members are entitled to use the designatory letters MNNA and (if they wish to) appear on the Association’s Register of Therapists.
  • Associate members are entitled to use the designatory letters MNNA and (if they wish) appear on the Association’s Register of Nutrition Advisors.  They must state on their own website and literature that they are associate members of the NNA
  • Full and Associate members will be entitled to special discounts and promotions from a number of related suppliers.
  • Members are entitled to discounts of up to 50% on certain CPD events.  Please refer to the entries on the CPD Opportunities page for further information.

Applying for a New membership

The NNA is pleased to welcome as members well trained Nutritional Therapists and Naturopathic Nutritional therapists. Applicants will need to demonstrate they meet the standards of the NNA with regard to training and must work within the National Occupational Standards and core elements. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a naturopathic approach to health care.

Membership type available are, Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, Nutritional Therapist, Associate Membership and Student Membership. 

Generic membership requirements

  • Appropriate qualification diploma
  • Current professional insurance providing a minimum of £6 million cover (for UK based members)
  • Character reference
  • ID (drivers licence or passport)

 Full membership (Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist category)

Graduates of the following accredited courses are entitled to apply for full membership.

  • College of Naturopathic Medicine (graduates from 2009 onwards)
  • Natural Healthcare College (graduates from 2009 onwards)
  • Endeavour College (graduates from 2013 - 2018)

Graduates of the following courses in naturopathic nutritional therapy are entitled to apply for full membership, subject to:

  1. Evidence of a minimum of 50 hours of clinical training and/or at least 3 years in nutritional therapy practice
  2. Evidence of having regularly completed CPD since graduation
  3. Completion of the NNA's NOS and Core Elements Statements of Practice
    • College of Naturopathic Medicine (prior to 2009) and Endeavour College (prior to 2013)
    • College of Naturopathic Nutrition
    • Nutritional Healing Foundation
    • The Kevala Centre (graduates from November 2006)
    • Thames Valley University/Plaskett College. Graduates of Plaskett International College are not eligible to join the NNA.

Full membership (Nutritional Therapist category)

Graduates of the following courses in nutritional therapy are entitled to apply for full membership subject to:

  1. Evidence of having regularly completed CPD since graduation
  2. Completion of the NNA's NOS and Core Elements Statement of Practice
